Do you need more energy? It’s okay if you do. Most people do, especially this time of year. The days are short, the nights are long, you’re at work for a while, and when you get off work, it’s hard to find the energy to get to the gym.
But, waiting until after work to try to find the energy isn’t going to produce the energy. If we need energy, we need to create small amounts throughout the day. Like breadcrumbs to get back home. We were once bundles of boundless & limitless energy. Remember . . . maybe?
Some people call them Workout Snacks, or maybe just a Movement Snack. If you have a Kettlebell, you’re set. Even if you don’t, you can start with standing up where you are, do a couple of bodyweight Squats, Jumping Jacks, Push-ups, or whatever moves you. They don’t have to be these big massive sets just get up & get moving in directions you’ll want to move later in the day.
Take a walk; go for short but meaningful Sprints. Carry an extra pair of tennis shoes with you. Be creative and think about moving often & moving with intention throughout the day. The energy you want & need is there, it just takes some creativity & effort to build it up before we actually need it.
